Short Message Service (SMS) is a communication service standardized in the GSM mobile communication system, using standardized communications protocols which allows the interchange of sms between mobiles.Bulk SMS text messaging is the most widely used data application on the planet. The key idea for Bulk SMS was to use this telephony-optimized system and to transport messages on the signaling paths needed to control the telephony traffic during time periods when no signaling traffic existed.This concept allowed implementing the Bulk SMS in every mobile station with additional software routines. Messages are sent to a Short Message Service Centre (SMSC) which provides a store-and-forward mechanism. It attempts to send messages to their recipients.
